The Nigeria Police Academy (abbreviated as POLAC or NPA) is a federal degree awarding institution located in Wudil, Kano State, Northern Nigeria. The Nigeria Police Academy officially took off simultaneously at two temporary campuses in 1988; the Police Training School, Challawa, Kano where cadet inspectors were trained; and the Police College Kaduna, where cadets ASPs were trained.

These two campuses were merged and relocated to the current permanent site of the institution in Wudil, Kano State, after it was formerly commissioned on the 2nd of April, 1996, by the then Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Sani Abacha, GCON, dss, mni., with the expectation that the Academy will be affiliated to a University for degree awarding courses.

This later happened in 2012 – when the Federal Government of Nigeria upgraded the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State to a degree-awarding institution. The National Universities Commission (NUC), accordingly, recognized the Academy as the thirty-seven (37th) Federal University and the one hundred and twenty fourth (124th) University in Nigeria. Academic Activities commenced in the Academy in September, 2012.
