About the Nigerian Engineering Olympiad (NEO)
The
Nigerian Engineering Olympiad is a nationwide engineering, innovation and entrepreneurship competition designed to identify, encourage, and celebrate engineering excellence among students across Nigerian Tertiary institutions. This initiative aims to foster innovation, problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and business development, ultimately contributing to the development of a robust engineering ecosystem in the country.
The Nigerian Engineering Olympiad was launch on Nov 20, 2025, and will run for eight months with a special focus on final-year undergraduate engineering students, postgraduate students, and researchers, providing a platform to apply engineering principles and processes to create innovative solution to real-world challenges and showcase technical ingenuity.
Through a series of rigorous challenges, capacity development, mentorship and participants will engage in hands-on problem-solving, engineering design, and cutting-edge innovation. The Olympiad fosters excellence, collaboration, and the advancement of engineering solutions to Nigerian and global challenges.
The Olympiad is sponsored by reputable companies such as the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), First Exploration & Petroleum Development Company Limited (First E&P), Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Enactus Nigeria.
