Every organization must plan
for long-run survival and growth that makes the most sense given its specific
situation and resources.
Strategic planning as a process
of developing and maintaining a strategic fit between goals and capabilities
offers a unique opportunity for sustained growth through effective teamwork.
Having recognized the value of
strategic planning, the Management of Kaduna Polytechnic decided to embark on
this well thought-out process of developing the plan. The methods adopted in
preparing the Strategic Plan (2019-2022) involved the participation of both internal
and external stakeholders.
This plan is guided by the
Institution’s Mission and Vision statements, taking into
consideration the Polytechnic’s
Threats, Opportunities Weaknesses and Strengths (TOWS). The plan also takes
into cognisance, the objectives of Polytechnic education and the broader scope
of Kaduna Polytechnic becoming a University of Technology in the future.
Consequently, the plan focuses
on strategies of achieving the established key issues, some of which include:
1. Maintaining academic
excellence
2. Catalyzing technology
development and industrialization
3. Enhancing staff and student
welfare
4. Attaining a green campus
5. Achieving transparency and
zero tolerance for corruption
6. Sustaining and enhancing
international collaboration and bench marking
7. Enhancing security and
safety of lives and property
8. Entrenching the culture of
research, publications and development
9. Enhancing Internally
Generated Revenue (IGR) from our various sources of income
