BREAKING: NWDC Cancels Foreign Scholarship Scheme
The North West Development Commission (NWDC) has cancelled its earlier announced foreign scholarship scheme in a bid to prioritized local education in the country.

This follows the Ministry of Education's recent termination of bilateral education agreement (BEA) scholarships to strengthen local education.
The Commission made this known on X via a press statement on Thursday, May 8th, 2025.
The press release is as follows;
CANCELLATION OF FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
The North West Development Commission (NWDC) announces the cancellation of applications for foreign scholarships, in line with the Federal Government's recent directive to prioritize local education in Nigeria.

This decision follows the Federal Government's announcement on May 7, 2025, which was signed by the Director Press and PR of Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs Boriowo Folasade, emphasizing the importance of strengthening local educational institutions and promoting indigenous capacity building.
