About the NWDC Undergraduate and Postgraduate Foreign Scholarship Scheme, 2025
The North-West Development Commission (NWDC), established by the NWDC Act, 2024 signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is committed to driving development, growth, and infrastructure enhancement in the North-West region. To further this mission, the Commission is pleased to announce the opening of applications for 2025/2026 Undergraduate and Postgraduate Foreign Scholarships. This initiative seeks to foster academic excellence and empower exceptional individuals from the North-West to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at reputable foreign universities.

NWDC SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The North-West Development Commission (NWDC) Scholarship Scheme is offering awards for the following levels and fields of study:
LEVELS OF STUDY
- Undergraduate
- Master’s
- Ph.D
FIELDS OF STUDY FOR NWDC SCHOLARSHIP
- Engineering
- Medical Sciences
- Agriculture
- ICT and Education
APPLICATION IS COMPLETELY FREE
APPLICATION OPENS: 5TH MAY, 2025
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Indigene: Be an indigene of the North-West States (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, & Zamfara)
Undergraduate: Distinction in 3.0 (Level core science subjects and 6 credits in other subjects (not more than 2 sittings)
Master’s: CGPA of 3.8 and above.
Ph.D: Minimum of 4.0/5.0 CGPA in Master’s Degree.
Age Limit: 22 years and below for Undergraduate, 35 years and below for Master’s and 40 years and below for PhD at the time of application.

Interested candidates can apply through the Commission’s website via: www.nwdc.gov.ng/scholarships.

The deadline for the application is 18th May, 2025.

- NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Letter

- Secondary Certificate (WAEC/NECO)
- Master’s Degree Certificate (for PhD)
