This is to inform all interested
Indian students that applications are invited for Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship for
candidates who have a PhD degree and wish to study at Indian Institute of
Technology Ropar. The duration of the fellowship will be for a period of 3
years. Renewal needs to be done each year based on satisfactory performance and
the recommendation of the Department.

The aim of the fellowship is to
support Indian students and provide a contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000/- per
annum to the Post-Doctoral Fellow for research purposes. The unspent amount can
be carried over to the next financial year.
The Indian Institute of Technology
Ropar (IIT Ropar) or IIT-RPR, is an engineering and technology higher education
institute located in Rupnagar, Punjab, India. It is one of the eight newer
Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of
Human Resource Development MHRD, Government of India under The Institutes of
Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011.

Application
deadline: Applicants can apply by rolling

Course Level: Fellowship is available to pursue postdoctoral programme.
Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded in the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award: The fellowship will cover the following:
Fellowship Amount- Between Rs. 45,000-55,000/- consolidated (depending upon experience and qualification).
Accommodation- Suitable Hostel/Campus accommodation as per IIT norms will be provided if requested and if available.
Contingency Grant- A contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum will be provided to the Post-Doctoral Fellow for research purposes. The unspent amount can be carried over to the next financial year.
Permission for Conference- Either National or International Conference can be permitted provided funds available in the contingency grant of the concerned doctoral fellow.
A Claim for attending an interview- Train fare by II AC from a place of residence to IIT Ropar (by shortest route).
Leave- With fellowship not exceeding 30 days in a year for each completed year of the fellowship. The leave can be availed on a pro-rata basis for the duration.
