The London School of Economics (LSE) – a
public research university located in London, England and a constituent college
of the federal University of London is offering around 100 major studentships
for new PhD students in 2018.

research in any LSE discipline, with annual renewal subject to satisfactory
academic performance.
The London School of Economics
offers a unique opportunity for developing, comprehensive research skills
throughout the mining chain – from exploration, mining, processing and metal
production, to recovery after stopping mining activities.
Applicants whose first language is
not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English
at the higher level required by the University.

These awards will be made solely on
the basis of outstanding academic merit and research potential. This relates
both to your past academic record and to an assessment of your likely aptitude
to complete a PhD on your chosen topic in the time allocated.

requirement that scholars contribute to their department as part of their
research training, in the form of teaching or other work, usually from year two
onwards.
