Nigerian Air Force Recruitment for Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC), 2025
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the recruitment into its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) for graduates and postgraduates candidates. This article contains the eligibility criteria and mode of application.

The NAF is enlisting graduates and postgraduates for training as Direct Short Service Cadets in various professions FREE OF CHARGE. Interested and qualified applicants are to apply. Applicants are to carefully read the specific disciplines required on our portal before filling the form.
On completion of the application forms, applicants must print out the underlisted documents:
a. Acknowledgement Form
b. Parent/Guardians Consent Form
c. Local Government Area Attestation Form to be signed only by one of the following:(1) Military Officer from the same State as the applicant and of the rank of Squadron Leader or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy
(2) Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner and above
(3) Substantive Local Government Chairman/Secretary
(4) Magistrates from Applicants State of origin
The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed by the signatories with Drivers Licence or National ID Card or International Passport.

Eligibility for Nigeria Air Force DSSC Recruitment
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 32 years, while Medical Doctors (consultants) could be between the ages of 25 and 40 years at the time of the application.
- The Exercise is not for serving personnel desiring Branch Commission. Therefore, personnel above 32 years of age are not to apply.
- A serving personnel must be recommended by his/her Commanding Officer/Commander and must have served for 10 years and attained the rank of Cpl.
- Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for males and not less than 1.63m tall for females.
- Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on court martial.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and must meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.
Academic/Professional Qualification
- Interested professionals must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper Division for holders of first degree and Upper Credit for HND holders. Professional qualifications like ACA, ACCA, ACMA are added advantages. Applicants must further possess evidence of membership of any Professional body in Nigeria where applicable.
- Exemption from NYSC at the time of Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption from NYSC.
- Medical applicants must possess certificates of registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.

NOTE
Online registration starts on Wednesday 27 August 2025 and closes on Tuesday 7 October 2025.
Zonal General Aptitude Test will be held on a date to be conveyed on the NAF Recruitment Portal. Only successful applicants will be invited for the Selection Interview.
