No More HND in Computer Science, NBTE Rolls out 4 New Replacements

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) under the leadership of Prof. Idris M. Bugaje (the Executive Secretary) has unbundled the Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Computer Science programme into 4 (four) new programmes.

In a letter dated 8th January, 2024, the board wrote to the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), notifying them that the HND Comuputer Science programme has been unbundled into the following programmes:

1. HND Artificial Intelligence
2. HND Networking and Cloud Computing
3. HND Software and Web Development
4. HND Cybersecurity and Data Protection

Furthermore, the notice stated that admission into HND Computer Science programme has come to an end from the 2024/2025 academic session, while students already been admitted to study the former programme would be allowed till 2025 to phase out.
