BUK Announces Christmas, New Year Break, and Resumption Date

Bayero University Kano (BUK) resumption date after the Christmas and New Year holidays have been announced. See details below.

The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced the resumption date for continuation of academic activities after the yuletide seasons. The notice as issued by the management is as follows;

The Federal Government has declared Monday 25th - Tuesday 26th December, 2023 and Monday 1st January, 2024 as public holidays to mark this year's Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year respectively.

However, staff on shift duty, emergency or essential services in various units are hereby exempted and will report for duty as usual. Work resumes on Wednesday, 27th December, 2023 and Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024 respectively.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, FMAN and the University Management wish members of the University Community happy Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The resumption date for new and returning students is on Monday, 4th December, 2023. All students are to note that lectures commences immediately.

The strike action embarked upon by the NLC and TUC will not in any way affect the academic calendar as approved earlier
