Private Universities Demand Reopening of Schools, Writes to NUC
;
The Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Private Universities (CVCPU) has written to the National Universities Commission (NUC), requesting the reopening of private universities.
The request was contained in a letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of NUC Professor Abubakar Rasheed. The committee argued that academic activities would be distorted should the closure of schools be prolonged for the next one month.
The CVCPU also maintained that they have mapped out plans to ensure a safe and cordial learning environment for students and staff in regards to the COVID-19 guidelines, centered on advisory to parents, institutional initiatives, resumption modalities, fumigation, hand washing, hostel facilities and cafeterias, and in-campus transportation.
