The Minister revealed this during the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 briefing on Thursday, July 23, in Abuja.

According to him, sitting for GCE examinations may become the only option for Nigerian students if the government cannot convince WAEC to shift its examinations.

He further added that, in the event that Nigeria finally meets up with the WAEC timetable, subjects such as Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba will have to be shifted behind to make room for the writing of general subjects with other participating countries.

Nwajiuba said that the government would meet with stakeholders again on July 30, to review the guidelines, provisions, and preparations for the safe reopening of schools.
