This is to inform all interested candidates that the Nigerian Army has announced the opening of its portal for recruitment into the army for interested Nigerians.

Applicants are expected to be between the ages of 18 to 22 and to apply through its portal. Continue reading for details about the application process.

The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that the online registration for 91 Regular Recruits Intake Exercise for Trades/Non-tradesmen and women will commence from 30 March to 17 May 2026 for all interestod and qualified candidates. 

Application Requirements for Nigerian Army 91 Recruitment for Tradesmen and Non-Tradesmen

  • Application is free for interested candidates.
  • Applicants are to apply once. Multiple applications will lead to outright disqualification.
  • Interested candidates are advised to log on to https://recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete online registration. 

Entry Requirements for the Nigerian Army Recruitment Exercise 

To join the Nigerian Army, candidates must check the following points:
  • Applicant must be single, Nigerian citizen by birth, and must possess National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) Slip.
  • The name and date of birth on the NIN must correspond with those on the BVN and all other credentials.
  • Applicant must be medically, physically and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army Standards.
  • Applicant must have no criminal conviction by any court of competent jurisdiction.
  • Applicant must possess a minimum of 4 passes including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/NAITEB.
  • In addition to the above qualifications, those applying as tradesmen/women must also possess a TRADE TEST/CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or local government council. Age declaration endorsed by a competent court can also suffice.
  • Applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 22 years for non-tradesmen and women, while tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years by 30th June 2026.
  • Applicant must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for males and females candidates respectively.
  • Applicants must possess valid Certificate of State of Origin.
  • Applicants must apply using their State of Origin not State of Residence.
  • Applicant must possess a valid Certificate of State of Origin.

ALL DOCUMENTS WILL BE VERIFIED FROM THE APPROPRIATE ISSUING AUTHORITIES. ALL THOSE WITH FAKE DOCUMENTS WILL BE HANDED OVER TO THE POLICE FOR PROSECUTION.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Candidates are to note that there will be no Pre-Selection Computer Based Test.
  • No Special centre for recruitment.
  • All screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates’ respective state of origin.
  • Candidates are not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the State Recruitment Exercise.
  • Tattoo, piercing, or inscription on any part of the body is not allowed.
  • Multiple piercings or earrings for females are not allowed.
  • Candidates should tender only original copies of their credentials, including (Primary and Secondary Certificates).
  • Candidates must not belong to any cult/secret society/fraternity.
  • A candidate will be withdrawn from training if found to have forged or falsified any document.
  • Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
  • Candidates must come with their NIN and BVN Slips.

How to Apply for Nigerian Army 91 Regular Recruitment Exercise

  • Apply online via the recruitment portal https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
  • Log on to the above mentioned link using your username and password (earlier generated).
  • Complete the application form, submit, print a copy and complete their Photo Card. Failure to print online will lead to disqualification.
  • Ensure you bring signed copies of the following documents with you to the state recruitment centres: 
  1. Guarantor Form
  2. Local Government Attestation Form
  3. Parents/Guardian Consent Form
  4. Certification by Local Government Area Chairman/Secretary
  5. Certification by Police Officer
  6. BVN Slip
